Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has approved Lufthansa Technik to maintain aircraft registered in the Middle Eastern country.
The approval covers a maintenance operation at Dubai’s Al Maktoum airport in a hangar that is jointly owned by German business jet operator DC Aviation and local diversified group Al Futtaim.
At the site, the MRO group services airliner-based business jets under a "long-lasting co-operation agreement” with the DC Aviation Al-Futtaim joint venture, using mechanics from its local Lufthansa Technik Middle East subsidiary.
LHT says that its has conducted two A-Checks at the facility, with the second event – on a Saudi Arabian-registered Airbus A320 – having been completed in January.
The maintenance specialist's regional sales manager, Omar Aker, states that LHT is “the second VIP MRO supplier in the Gulf region approved for Saudi-registered aircraft of the Airbus A320CJ family and Boeing BBJ types”.
