Russian maintenance firm Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow has secured approval from regulators in Bermuda to service Boeing 777-200s and -300s.

Much of the Russian commercial airline fleet is listed on the Bermudan register.

Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow says it has obtained clearance to perform line maintennace on General Electric GE90-powered 777s.

It adds that its personnel were able to prepare for, and secure, the certification in less than two months.

Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow says it is aiming to expand on the approval with clearance from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, in order to service European-registered 777s.

It will be able to add the twinjet type to a portfolio which already includes Boeing 747-400s and 747-8s, as well as Boeing 737s and Airbus A320s.
