New York-based JetBlue Airways has inked a maintenance, repair and overhaul contract for "a portion" of its General Electric CF34-10E engine fleet with Lufthansa Technik.
The three-year agreement will allow the two companies "to gain experience working together" and might lead to a long-term deal for the planned fleet of more than 200 CF34-10E engines, says the German provider.
JetBlue, in which Lufthansa holds a 19% share, operates 46 Embraer 190s and has 53 on order, according to Flightglobal's ACAS database.
