NASA has named one launch and three landing sites for the flight-testing of the X-33 advanced technology demonstrator being built by Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works.

The X-33 will be launched from a site close to Haystack Butte on the eastern portion of Edwards AFB, California. The three preferred landing sites are Silurian Lake, a dry-lake bed near Baker, California, Michael Army Air Field, Utah and Malstrom AFB, Montana. The sites were selected after an environmental-impact study by NASA.
