NASA has been named fourth in the "top 10 examples of mismanagement" by the US Senate Governmental Affairs Committee. In "spectacular example after example, NASA lost billions of dollars because of mismanagement of some of its biggest programmes", says the committee. The space agency has paid contractors for jobs not done, operated an unsecured computer network and wasted millions of dollars in office supplies.
