The US House of Representatives has passed the Science and Departments of State, Justice, Commerce, and related agencies appropriations act for the US government’s fiscal year 2006 budget that also includes NASA. The agency will be funded at the requested level of $16.5 billion – $260 million above the 2005 budget. It fully funds President Bush’s vision for space exploration at $3.1 billion and restores the aeronautics research programme to $912 million. The bill also directs the President to develop a national aeronautics policy.
