Cessna (Booth 5133) has unveiled its new Citation Columbus concept mock-up, showing its progress to date after two years of customer research.

Jack Pelton, Cessna’s chairman, president and CEO, says: “This next-generation mock-up represents a departure from conventional Cessna design and explores unique concepts, many of which are based on customer input collected during a global tour of our first conceptual design unveiled at NBAA in 2006.”

The interior features more galley space, new lighting, newly-sculpted sidewalls, heated passenger seats and moveable cup holders. The cabin management will be integrated later as technology advances to meet Cessna's needs.

Cessna now holds more than 70 orders for the aircraft, priced at $27 million apiece. It is expected to be the only aircraft in its class capable of covering 4,000nm non-stop at Mach 0.80.

Full certification is expected in 2013 with the aircraft entering service the following year.
