Garmin (Booth 2853) has launched a discounted “Platinum Package” retrofit G1000 integrated flight deck for Beechcraft King Air C90, 200 and B200 owners who place an order for by November 30, 2008.

The company says the Platinum Package gives a substantial savings on the most popular G1000 options, including Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT), Garmin Chartview, which displays Jeppesen charts, and GRC/GRT XM radio remote control.

This King Air retrofit flight deck is the industry’s first G1000 retrofit avionics package. It integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, weather and engine instrumentation system (EIS) on a large 15in multi-function display (MFD) and two 10.4in primary flight displays (PFD).

The GFC 700 also has coupled wide area augmentation system (WAAS) approaches, coupled vertical navigation and flight level change (FLC).

G1000 retrofit

The SVT presents a 3D depiction of terrain, obstacles and traffic on the G1000’s PFD so that the avionics panel replicates what pilots would see outside the cockpit on a clear day.

Gary Kelley, Garmin’s vice president of marketing, says: “The King Air C90 and 200 are the first aircraft to be eligible for a G1000 retrofit, and customers have jumped at the chance to have Garmin-glass in the flight deck of the aircraft they already know and love flying.

“Throughout the King Air 200 STC program, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that when completed it will include common configurations, such as Black Hawk engines and the STC for full RVSM certification.”
