Flight Display Systems (Booth 1666) has launched the aircraft industry's first five-source wireless audio transmitter.
When paired with the company’s digital five-source-selectable wireless headsets, passengers can select from a wide variety of programming anywhere in the cabin. The user just has to select the channel they want from a headset-mounted button.
The 14oz, 28VDC transmitter produces 2.43GHz digital signals. In addition, customers can plug in their own portable digital devices, including iPods and MP3 players to enjoy their own programming. Other on-board audio sources can be used too, including satellite radio, CD players, DVD, VCR and TV sound.
David Gray, Flight Display Systems founder and president, says the company has the only STC-certified wireless high-fidelity cabin audio systems in the industry. Gray says: “As more and more portable and hard-wires electronics come onto the market the demand to add more channels in their cabin has increased.”
