Bombardier and CAE this morning said they are setting up a second dedicated training center in Amsterdam for the Canadian airframer, which will open in open in 2014. Bombardier has also named its fellow Montreal-based company its authorized pilot and maintenance training provider for Europe, with the same role worldwide for the Global family.

The Amsterdam facility will begin by offering pilot and maintenance training on Global 5000 and 6000 aircraft equipped with the Bombardier Vision flight deck and "expand progressively based on demand". Bombardier currently provides this training at its Montreal center.

The new location in the Netherlands will complement CAE's site in Burgess Hill, UK - which offers simulators for the Learjet 40 and 45 and older Global models - and in Amsterdam, which handles training for the Challenger 300 and 604.
