Teterboro-based aviation services company Meridian is expanding its charter operations to the West Coast with plans to open facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The first phase comprises two sales offices at San Jose International Airport and Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa.
The company is also relocating one of its 21 managed aircraft to Hayward Executive Airport in California. Hayward is located on the southeast of the San Francisco Bay. The aircraft, a Citation XLS, will be moved to Hayward in January 2013.
While most of its fleet is based at Teterboro, Meridian also has Part 135 aircraft based in White Plains, New York; Bedford, Massachusetts; and Denver, Colorado.
Meridian Air Charter president Dennis O'Connell says: "We feel the northern California market is currently underserved, and in order to keep pace with our competition, we must be present on both coasts to address our clients' private aviation needs. This expansion is part of our long-term growth strategy, and we feel the best time to start is now."
