Chinese business aviation services provider Deer Jet announced at NBAA it is forming a strategic alliance with Starbase Jet to dry lease Gulfstream 200s to the US-based private charter company.
“After many months of careful planning and negotiations, a strategic alliance agreement has been formed between Deer Jet and Starbase Jet,” say the companies. “Our agreement permits Starbase Jet to operate a series of Deer Jet Gulfstream 200 jets in the USA. This marks the first time that a Chinese operator has registered their assets in the USA.”
Deer Jet, founded in 1995, is the biggest business aviation operator in Asia, with 33 aircraft available for charter services as well as 33 managed aircraft comprising Airbus, Boeing Business Jet, Bombardier, Dassault Aviation Falcon, Gulfstream and Hawker types. The company also provides aircraft transaction, FBO, MRO and fractional ownership support services.
Texas-headquartered Starbase Jet has established a presence in the Asia-Pacific region with an office at Seletar Airport in Singapore, with two of its six Learjet 60 aircraft already based there, and a new Global 5000 scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2014.
