Esterline CMC has snapped up from L-3 Communication the exclusive license for Smartdeck integrated cockpit technologies, paving the way for the Bellevue, Washington-based company to expand its product portfolio and enhance its cockpit capabilities for the OEM and retrofit markets.
Speaking at the show this morning, Esterline CMC president Greg Yeldon said. "Licensing the SmartDeck technology will accelerate CMCs market penetration and contribute to enhancing its current cockpit solutions portfolio. We plan to build on the current SmartDeck technologies using our experience in Part 23 and Part 25 cockpit certification to grow the SmartDeck into various acceptable solutions for all types of aircraft."
The SmartDeck name will remain "but over time, that may change and evolve," Yeldon said.
