Universal Avionics Systems's cockpit voice recorder (CVR) with recorder independent power supply (RIPS) and flight data recorder (FDR) have been selected by Gulfstream Aerospace as forward-fit equipment on Gulfstream's G450, G550 and G650 business jets. Universal's CVR with RIPS (CVR-120R) and FDR (FDR-25R) will be standard on these aircraft. Gulfstream will be the first fixed wing original equipment manufacturer to announce compliance with the US Federal Aviation Administration's latest rules on CVRs and digital FDRs, says Universal.
