Safran (booth 2579) group company Microturbo has completed a 150h block endurance test of its e-APU60 as part of the auxiliary power unit's civil certification program. The engine operated at maximum speed and exhaust gas temperature during the test, to simulate extreme operating conditions.
“These tests gave us the opportunity to validate the reliability and the endurance of this new energy source concept, meeting our expectations and those of our first customer, AgustaWestland. says Mircroturbo CEO Pierre-Yves Morvan.
To date, seven development engines have taken part in the ground tests, accumulating more than 380h.
