Skyway Aerospace Technologies (SWAT) has highlighted its role in assisting Hawker Beechcraft in developing the updated Hawker 800XPR and 900XPR.

SWAT, which specializes in updating existing airframes, said it has played a "leading role" in the engineering of the aircraft's avionics, winglets and engine upgrades.

The recently certified Hawker 800XPR includes integrated winglets, Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, and new twin Honeywell TFE31-50R engines, which are flat rated at 4,660lbs thrust (20.7kN).

Certification of the 400XPR is expected in 2012 and will bring Williams International FJ44-4A engines to the updated jet, winglets and Pro Line 21 avionics.
