StandardAero has signed a letter of intent with Embraer to become an authorized service center for the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500 aircraft.
The maintenance, repair and overhaul provider says it plans to firm up the agreement in the third quarter of 2013 and to become an authorized center for the type when the aircraft enter into service. It is an authorized service center already for the Embraer 600 and 650 series models.
Embraer plans to complete the first certification program for the Legacy 500 by the end of 2013, after which the Legacy 450 program will start testing.
The firm also announced it has added GE CF34 line maintenance capability across all of its business aviation repair stations in Los Angeles; Springfield, Illinois; and Houston, and mobile service teams will be able to offer the capability at StandardAero fly-in facilities or remote locations.
The CF34 engine powers the Challenger 601/604/605 aircraft.
