Universal Weather and Aviation has released a free iPad download, called Universal Ops Brief, available from the Apple app store. The package is managed by Universal Trip Support Services to manage domestic and international operations briefing packages. It includes the ability to send and receive notification, viewing, navigation and downloading of the relevant information.
Operations briefs are normally emailed to pilots as PDF attachments said Universal, but since so many airlines now use iPads for communicating, and some even as electronic flight bags, it seemed like a good way of making the company's operations support services easier to use.
Universal Ops Brief includes weather information, flight plans, fuel releases, ground handling confirmations, hotel and transport confirmations, runway analysis weight and balance reports, flight and landing permit confirmations, customs and immigration detail, security arrangements and other services.
