Second contract in seven months marks first sale of super mid-size aircraft in region

Rapidly expanding fractional ownership operator NetJets Europe has signed a $700 million contract with Hawker Beechcraft for the supply of 32 Hawker 4000 super mid-size business jets.

The deal, announced this week at EBACE, is the second major contract between the two companies in seven months and marks the first sale of the Hawker 4000 in Europe. Deliverers are set to begin in the third quarter of next year and will continue through to 2016. NetJets Europe says: "The aircraft is aimed to target businesses and entrepreneurs who need the service, performance and the range offered by the flight-attendant equipped aircraft."

NetJets Europe is the largest operator of Beechcraft and Hawker types on the continent with a fleet of 53 aircraft. Eight of the 24 business jets planned for delivery this year will also be Hawker types, says the London-based company, which operates a fleet of 115 business jets.

NetJets Europe and its US sister company NetJets Aviation signed a $500 million contract last October to purchase another 48 of the company's Hawker 750 and 900XP business jets. NetJets Aviation has a separate order for 50 Hawker 4000s.
