NetJets Europe has launched a demonstration tour of the Bombardier Global 6000 in "select markets" across the continent and says it has already sold 75% of the shares in the first two long-range business jets.

The twin-engined aircraft - the first of which is set for delivery this quarter - will sit at the top of NetJets' 130-strong fleet. Two more Global 6000s will be handed over in the first half of 2013.

The trio are part of the of a $6.7bn order placed by the fractional ownership and charter provider in March 2011. The deal - which marked NetJets' first purchase of Bombardier business jets - includes firm orders for 30 Global 5000s and 6000s, along with 20 Global 7000s and 8000s.

Shares in the Global 6000 start at $3.1m for a 1/16th share - equivalent to 50 flight hours a year, says NetJets.

"Given the incredible range of the jet - which can travel from London to São Paulo non-stop - NetJets is launching an extension of the service area for its Global customers," it says.

"This will save them positioning fees [of up to 35%] on flights to cities in India, Kazakhstan, China, Angola, Nigeria, South Africa, the Middle East and Brazil," the company adds.

The Global 6000 will be configured in NetJets' bespoke Signature Series interior and exterior and will be equipped, the company says, "with high-end, refined materials, fittings and finish, and furnished with the latest safety and avionics technology".

NetJets says the Global 6000 is "ideally suited to European corporations and individuals looking to expand and do business in high-growth markets in the BRIC [Brazil, Russia, India and China] economies and beyond".
