Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York was closed for almost two hours after a NetJets Gulfstream G200 corporate jet overran runway 34 after landing in poor weather on Friday, 16 March.
No injuries were reported among the six passengers and crew, and a damage report is not scheduled until the aircraft has been pulled from the mud, says the US FAA.
Few details are currently available, although the FAA has identified the aircraft as N729QS. According to Flight database ACAS, this G200 is a late 2005 model owned and operated by fractional operator NetJets.
The entire northwest region of the USA is currently being hit by a winter storm that has already dumped several inches of snow in some areas near Westchester. Actual conditions at the time of landing (about 09:45) are at this time unknown.
All flights into the airport - which handles commercial and private operations - were diverted until the G200 was moved from the end of runway 34.
Neither NetJets nor Westchester Airport were immediately available for comment.
