Air China plans to launch a Beijing-Johannesburg service on 29 October.
The thrice weekly service will be served using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the carrier says.
The airline adds that it also intends to start a Beijing-Addis Ababa service, although it did not specify a launch date.
FlightMaps Analytics shows that Air China will be the only operator on the Beijing-Johannesburg route. It will compete with Ethiopian Airlines on the Beijing-Addis Ababa route.
