Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines plan to operate 35,000 more seats on the Auckland-Singapore route over the 2020 northern summer scheduling period, using a combination of larger aircraft and more frequencies.
Air NZ will add two more weekly flights on the route from 29 March to 24 October, taking its frequency to 14 per week, all operated by Boeing 787-9s.
SIA, meanwhile, will use Airbus A380s in place of the 777-300ERs on its daily services during the peak Easter period.
"These increases will allow customers the option of three daily, year-round flights between Auckland and Singapore, giving customers more options to travel point to point, as well as onwards to a range of destinations throughout India, Europe and South East Asia via Singapore," says Air NZ's chief strategy networks and alliances officer Nick Judd.
The two carriers are the only ones flying nonstop between Auckland and Singapore and operate in a joint venture arrangement.
