Alaska Airlines will launch six new routes from San Diego International airport starting in August.
On 27 August Alaska will begin daily flights from San Diego to both Omaha and Austin, the carrier says.
Then on 18 October Alaska will begin daily service from San Diego to Albuquerque, followed by daily San Diego-Minneapolis flights on 18 November.
On 15 December the airline will begin daily flights between San Diego and both Kansas City and St Louis, according to Alaska.
Alaska's regional subsidiary Horizon Air will operate Embraer 175s on the Albuquerque, Kansas City, Minneapolis and St Louis routes, according to Alaska's website.
Regional partner SkyWest Airlines will operate E175s on the Austin and Omaha routes.
Horizon has orders for 33 E175s, with deliveries scheduled to begin this month, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer. Alaska will compete with Southwest Airlines on the routes to Albuquerque, Austin, Kansas City and St Louis, FlightGlobal schedules data shows.
It will compete with Delta Air Lines and Sun Country Airlines between San Diego and Minneapolis.
No other carriers fly from San Diego to Omaha, according to schedules data.
