Allegiant Air will begin service on nine new routes starting from November, connecting mostly existing destinations in its network.
The Las Vegas-based ultra low-cost carrier will add year-round service from Tucson to Bellingham (Washington) from 15 November, and to Provo (Utah) from 16 November. From Albany, it will add year-round service to St Petersburg/Clearwater from 12 December, followed by Punta Gorda and Orlando Sanford on 13 December.
Allegiant will compete indirectly on some of the year-round routes against other airlines, FlightGlobal schedules data show. Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines operate between Albany and Orlando, while Southwest also flies between Albany and Tampa.
Separately, Allegiant will begin flights on four seasonal routes. It will start flights between Phoenix Mesa and St George (Utah) from 9 November; and connect Punta Gorda with Omaha from 14 November, Syracuse from 15 November, and Appleton (Wisconsin) from 16 November.
It will be the only carrier operating on these routes.
Allegiant plans to operate between twice and thrice weekly on all of the new routes.
