American Airlines will end service to Omaha and Tulsa from its Miami hub in August, as part of its regular review of its network.
The Oneworld Alliance carrier will end daily Miami-Omaha service on 20 August and once-weekly Miami-Tulsa service on 18 August, FlightGlobal Diio schedules show and American confirms. The Omaha route is flown with a 76-seat Embraer 175 and the Tulsa route a 160-seat Boeing 737-800.
American does not comment on why it is ending the routes, but has previously said network changes are part of the on-going regular review of its routes.
While ending the Omaha and Tulsa routes, American will add new service from Miami to Bonaire and Savannah in June, and Georgetown, Guyana, and Pereira, Colombia, in December.
The airline has served Omaha from Miami since July 2017, and Tulsa since June 2010, schedules show.
American continues to serve Omaha from Charlotte, Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Phoenix; and Tulsa from Chicago O'Hare, Charlotte and Dallas/Fort Worth.
No other airlines fly between Miami, or nearby Fort Lauderdale, and either Omaha or Tulsa, schedules show.
