AviaAM Leasing has leased three second-hand Airbus A321s to Bamboo Airways for eight years.
The first two aircraft were delivered in October at FL Technics facilities in Kaunas, Lithuania, the lessor says, with the third scheduled for November. FL Technics will help with reconfiguring all three aircraft before delivery.
“We are delighted to start this cooperation with our first client in Vietnam,” Tadas Goberis, the lessor’s chairman and chief executive says.
“It is a good example our capabilities and tailored solutions are recognised by clients worldwide, and we are pleased to support the airline’s ambitious plan of becoming the first 5-star airline in the country.”
Cirium’s fleets data shows that the Vietnamese start-up carrier received MSNs 5044 and 5271 in October and expects to receive MSN 5059 in November.
The aircraft are all about 7.5 years old and powered by CFM International CFM56-5B engines. They were delivered new to Aeroflot Russian Airlines in 2008.
VEB-Leasing, part of Russian state development corporation VEB, purchased and leased back the aircraft in 2012 before ownership was transferred to AviaAM Leasing this year.
Aeroflot Russian Airlines placed the aircraft in storage from between April and June this year, though MSN 5271 was briefly leased to SmartLynx Latvia from June to September.
