Russian start-up Azimuth is to open services to Samara next month, as the airline shapes its initial network.
The carrier will operate from Rostov-on-Don to Samara's Kurumoch airport from 31 October.
Azimuth will serve the route twice-weekly using Sukhoi Superjet 100s, according to the airport's operator.
It states that the route has shown strong growth, with 50% more passengers carried, over the first eight months of this year.
FlightGlobal's routes database lists Yamal Airlines as the only non-stop competitor on the link.
Azimuth will be transferring to the new Rostov Platov airport in December.
