British Airways is axing flights to Madrid and Alicante from London City.
The IAG-owned UK carrier says the service to Spain's capital will end on 29 January, and that the seasonal flights to Alicante will "not be resuming", having been operated between June and September last year.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows that BA is the only carrier flying to Madrid from London City, while no airline currently serves Alicante from the UK capital's downtown airport.
BA, EasyJet, Monarch Airlines, Norwegian and Ryanair all operate to Alicante from London Gatwick. EasyJet and Monarch serve the Spanish city from London Luton, while Ryanair does so from London Stansted and EasyJet from London Southend.
Air Europa, EasyJet, Iberia and Norwegian fly to Madrid from London Gatwick, and the Spanish capital is additionally served by BA from London Heathrow, by EasyJet from London Luton, and by Ryanair from London Stansted.
