British Airways is to launch a direct Durban service on 29 October.
The IAG-owned airline will operate thrice-weekly Boeing 787-8 flights to the South African city from London Heathrow.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows that Durban is served directly from only three non-African points: Doha, Dubai and Istanbul.
BA already flies to two South African cities: Johannesburg, twice daily from Heathrow; and Cape Town, daily from Heathrow and, during winter, thrice weekly from London Gatwick.
The airline's partner Comair flies to Durban from both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
