Copa Airlines has unveiled its first three new destinations in 2018, with two cities in Brazil and a new point in the Caribbean.
The Panamanian airline will launch service to Barbados on 17 July, followed by Fortaleza and Salvador on 18 July and 24 July, respectively.
Copa will operate to the three new destinations from Panama City twice weekly. It will be the only airline operating on all three new routes, FlightGlobal schedules data show.
Fortaleza and Salvador will take Copa's total number of destinations in Brazil to nine. The carrier currently offers codeshare service to Fortaleza and Salvador operated by Brazil's Gol. Copa plans to retain these codeshares, Copa chief executive Pedro Heilbron tells FlightGlobal.
The airline will take delivery of six new aircraft in 2018, including its first five 737 Max 9s. The first will arrive in August. The Star Alliance carrier has an order for 71 737 Max aircraft.
