Middle Eastern carrier Emirates is switching its Manchester route to an all-Airbus A380 service next year.
The Dubai-based airline, which serves the UK city thrice-daily, says it will replace its remaining Boeing 777-300ER rotation with a 517-seat A380 on 1 January.
Emirates says the change will amount to an 11% increase in its capacity to Manchester, with all flights operated by the double-deck type.
It will also switch its A380 link to Birmingham – which uses a 615-seat aircraft – to a different rotation in order, the airline says, to provide a “seamless” connection with other A380 routes from Dubai.
Emirates operates 81 A380s in its fleet.
