Air Astana's budget operation FlyArystan is to open its first international route, serving the Russian capital Moscow through Zhukovsky airport.

FlyArystan was launched in May on a network of domestic Kazakhstan services.

But it had previously indicated plans to expand internationally.

Zhukovsky airport's operator states that the airline will commence services to the Moscow facility from the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan from 13 December.

FlyArystan will conduct daily flights on the route.

It will use Airbus A320s configured in an all-economy layout with 180 seats.

FlyArystan sales and marketing director Zhanar Zhailauova says the carrier expects to "repeat" its success in Kazakhstan on the Russian market.
