Brazil's Gol will resume US service after it takes delivery of the Boeing 737 Max, with flights to Florida to launch on 4 November.
The Sao Paulo-based airline will operate nonstop to Miami and Orlando, from both Brasilia and Fortaleza. All four routes will be operated daily.
Gol had previously served both Miami and Orlando via one-stop service through Santo Domingo, but dropped both US cities from its network during the Brazilian downturn which prompted the airline to cut several international destinations.
The airline expects to take delivery of its first 737 Max in June, and has said it plans to devote most of its 737 Max deliveries to growing its international network.
"The Max allows us to get revenue markets that we can't serve with a full coach class with the [737]NG," said Gol chief financial officer Richard Lark in December 2017.
Gol will face competition on most of its new US routes, FlightGlobal schedules data show. It will compete against American Airlines on Brasilia-Miami and LATAM Airlines Brazil on Fortaleza-Miami. LATAM has also announced plans to operate nonstop between Fortaleza and Orlando from 5 July, flying twice weekly with Boeing 767 aircraft.
Gol will be the only airline flying nonstop between Brasilia and Orlando. LATAM withdrew from the route in June 2016.
