LATAM Airlines Group will suspend service between Fortaleza and Orlando, and end flights on two Latin American routes to Tucuman in Argentina after operating all of them for less than a year.
The Oneworld carrier says it is ending the flights to adapt to passenger demand and market conditions.
LATAM will operate its last flight between Fortaleza and Orlando on 30 March 2019. It operates the route twice weekly, having started service in July 2018. However, it will add two weekly frequencies on its service between Fortaleza and Miami from 1 April, for a total of five weekly flights.
Gol will be the only carrier operating nonstop between Fortaleza and Orlando when LATAM leaves the route, FlightGlobal schedules data show. Gol began their flights in November.
At Tucuman, LATAM will end nonstop service from Sao Paulo Guarulhos and Santiago, Chile, after 28 February 2019. LATAM began service on the two routes in June 2018.
The airline will continue to serve Tucuman from Buenos Aires Aeroparque and Lima, it says.
Latin American airlines have recently noted weaker demand on US service from Brazil, and international service from Argentina, due to currency depreciation that has made it more expensive for passengers to travel abroad.
LATAM's exit from the Tucuman routes will leave them unserved, FlightGlobal schedules data show.
