Montenegro Airlines is to start serving Leipzig and Munich next year.
Speaking to FlightGlobal in Podgorica on 6 September, chief executive Zivko Banjevic said the carrier planned "regular flights" to the two German cities "supported by fixed contracts" with tour operators.
FlightGlobal schedules data shows no airline currently operating between Podgorica and Leipzig or Munich.
Montenegro Airlines is also in the "latest phase" of negotiating charter flights to Jordanian capital Amman and is in talks toward starting flights to Iran in 2018, says Banjevic. This year, the carrier operated new charter services to southern Italy, Tel Aviv and Bratislava.
Banjevic hints that if the airline decides to acquire Boeing 737-7 Max jets as part of a refleeting plan, the carrier could operate long-haul flights to destinations such as Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar or Halifax in Canada.
