Middle Eastern carrier Oman Air is to open services to Iraq with a link to the city of Najaf.
The airline says it will begin operating the route from Muscat four-times weekly from 15 September.
Oman Air will use Boeing 737-800s for the connection, its first link to Iraq.
It says it is offering the route in response to “significant customer demand”.
Oman Air is aiming to expand its network to 75 destinations by 2020. The new route will take its total to 51.
