Middle Eastern carrier Qatar Airways has decided to stop its Doha-Osaka service in March next year for "commercial reasons".
The Oneworld member says that from 12 January it will operate a five-times-weekly rather than daily service on the route, before ending the flights entirely on 31 March.
Qatar Airways began flying to the Japanese city on 31 March 2005 and subsequently added services to Tokyo's Haneda and Narita airports.
