Star Alliance carrier Turkish Airlines is set to expand its African and Indian Ocean presence with plans for new routes to Madagascar and Mauritius.
The airline says the routes will open in mid-December. It has also signalled that it will operate to the South Sudanese capital, Juba, as well as Conakry in Guinea.
Chief executive Temel Kotil says the carrier has recently opened routes to Durban and Maputo.
“We are looking to add more destinations in the region,” he says, adding that last year the carrier transported 2 million passengers and carried out nearly 25,000 flights on African routes.
