United Airlines will launch a nonstop service between Los Angeles and Singapore on 27 October.
The US carrier says it will deploy Boeing 787-9s for the daily flights, which it believes will set a "new distance record for any airline operating a flight to or from the United States, at 8,700 miles".
It estimates the flight time at 17h 55min westbound and 15h 15min eastbound.
The new direct route will replace an existing Singapore service that includes a stopover in Hong Kong, United indicates.
In 2016, the Star Alliance launched nonstop flights to Singapore from San Francisco.
