Russia’s Utair is to expand from the new Platov airport at Rostov-on-Don, opening several new services within the country’s southern region.
Utair is intending to open new connections to Astrakhan, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Sochi and Stavropol.
The airline says all the routes will be opened around 2-3 September.
Utair plans to use ATR turboprops to carry out the flights to the five cities.
It says it is aiming to establish a “single corridor” between Siberia, the Volga region, and the south of Russia, and that a hub at Platov will allow passengers to avoid transfers in Moscow.
Utair appears set to compete with new Rostov-based operator Azimuth on some of the additional routes.
