Icelandic budget airline Wow Air is further intensifying competition with flag-carrier Icelandair by opening a link to New York JFK.
Wow Air already serves Newark, while Icelandair serves both Newark and JFK.
But Wow has disclosed that it also intends to open services to JFK towards the end of April next year.
It says the service from its Reykjavik Keflavik base will be operated daily. While it has not given an aircraft type, it opened the Newark route with Airbus A321s.
The JFK service will begin on 26 April.
Wow Air is also raising the frequency of flights from Newark to 13 weekly from May 2018.
