Embraer's latest regional jet model, the 44-seat ERJ-140, has begun a six month flight test programme. The prototype, modified from the ERJ-135 prototype, made its first flight from Embraer's Sao Jose dos Campos base on 27 June. The new model, which slots between the ERJ-135 and the ERJ-145, is available for delivery from early next year.
