Bell Canada has unveiled the first mock-up of the Bell 427 light, twin four-blade helicopter on its stand in Hall 4/D1/27.

The announcement of the new aircraft development was made with Korean firm Samsung Aerospace at the Helicopter Association International Show earlier this year.

This new model will be 33cm longer than the Bell 407, will meet the International Civil Aviation Organisation and Joint Aviation Authority twin engine requirements and will be powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW206Ds.

The 427 will carry seven passengers and one pilot and will be suitable for general corporate and civil applications.

Bell is planning certification for late 1998.
