Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer’s executive vice-president of executive aviation, has said the company believes there is “room for two new products in the mid-light and mid-size sectors and it is “actively studying” customer requirements. Given the manufacturer’s track record, this means it will be working with several highly targeted focus groups and undertaking massive market research. Embraer has long said it wants to compete in all business jet sectors, but Affonso is tight-lipped about the manufacturer’s next move. “There is no decision about that,” he says.

Embraer has two full-sized Phenom mock-ups here, as well as a Legacy and an E-190 regional jet to demonstrate the size of its latest ultra-long-range E-190 business jet derivative, the Lineage.
