Samoa has a new national carrier – Polynesian Blue. It launched operations at the end of October with services between its Apia base and Auckland in New Zealand, as well as between Apia and Sydney in Australia. Polynesian Blue has taken over the jet operations of Polynesian Airlines. Australia’s Virgin Blue and the Samoan government have 49% each, while the remaining 2% is held by Samoan hotel and resort group Aggie Grey’s.
