The gap in the market between economy class and business class has now been filled... with Recaro seats, and you can try them out for yourself here at the airshow (Stand A327).

The seats are similar to those being used by British Airways on its new World Traveller service, which features a range of new benefits for passengers flying longhaul in an 'economy cabin'.

The £150 million ($240 million) package of extras, introduced last month, is the biggest investment by any airline in its economy travel.

Recaro believe other airlines will now follow suit. Sabine Stosch from the company says: "We're sure more airlines will want to give their frequent travellers a business class seat in their economy class cabins.

"BA carried out a huge research programme before deciding on the new seats for its fleet of Boeing 777s and 60 B747s and we tailored the design to their requirements."
