L-3 Communications Integrated Systems has been named as preferred supplier for New Zealand's Project Guardian programme, which will modernise six Lockheed Martin P-3K Orion maritime surveillance aircraft. Mission systems replacement work will total up to NZ$220 million ($154 million), with a parallel communications and navigation systems upgrade to the value of around NZ$100 million.
