New Zealand is to buy a fifth Kaman SH-2G helicopter in a NZ$43 million ($23 million) deal. A further NZ$20 million is being allocated to purchase additional Raytheon AGM-65 Maverick missiles, spares and support equipment. New Zealand ordered four SH-2Gs in 1997, with an option on two during the production period. The Royal New Zealand Navy expects delivery of the first four SH-2Gs by the end of next year. A delivery date for the fifth aircraft is to be negotiated. Raytheon Systems Australia has completed the First of Class flight trials for the RNZN helicopters.
