Summer ice - Northwest Airline plans to increase its seasonal weekly service between Tokyo and Anchorage, Alaska to twice a week during the summer of 1999. The airline will use McDonnell Douglas DC-10s instead of the Boeing 747 it has been using. Paris,Texas - American Airlines will start daily nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Paris/Orly on 1 June, using Boeing 767-300ERs. The route was awarded under the 1998 aviation agreement between the US and French governments. Delta withdraws - Delta intends to suspend service to four cities early this year. The cities are Bangor, Maine; Calgory and Edmonton in Canada; and Prague in the Czech Republic. Delta Connection carrier Comair will launch a nonstop service between Bangor and Cincinnati, Ohio, while Business Express will operate flights between Bangor, Boston and New York/LaGuardia. Another Delta Connection carrier, SkyWest, will introduce service between Calgary and Salt Lake City. Nonstop Tokyo - Continental Airlines has launched a nonstop daily service between New York/Newark and Tokyo and will begin a daily nonstop Houston-Tokyo service on 31 January. Metrojet celebrates - US Airways launched its low fare Metrojet service at Washington Dulles International on 1 December with daily nonstop flights to Orlando . Twice daily flights to Tampa will be added on 22 December.
